The Basic Burger Made Better

4 Servings

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1-2 tablespoons finely grated shallots or onions

Spread the meat out on a cutting board.  Grate shallots over meat, letting the juice drain onto the meat.

1 tablespoon heavy cream
2 tablespoons Honey Glaze Rub, Tex-Mex Rub or Mediterranean Rub (r.u.b.s)

Pour cream over meat and season with your rub of choice. Mix thoroughly, being careful not to over-mix.  Form into 4 – 6 ounce patties.

Olive oil
Honey Glaze Rub, Tex-Mex Rub or Mediterranean Rub (use same one you used above)

Drizzle with olive oil and rub of choice again.

1 tablespoon butter

Add butter to a hot sauté pan and add hamburger patties.  Cook for 3-5 minutes per side.  Do not over-cook.

Serve with toasted buns and add your favorite condiments:

Red onion, thinly sliced
Lettuce
Pickle slices
Bacon
Ketchup
Mayonnaise
Mustard
Salsa
Your favorite cheese
