What the Research Says…

We have researched and performed a “salt load” of reading on pure, unrefined sea salts. One of the first books we discovered is titled, Salt Your Way to Health, by Dr. David Brownstein, M.D.  He writes:

“Unrefined salt is a whole food product which is easily utilized by the body. The additional minerals such as magnesium and potassium are essential for a healthy immune system….  Refined salt, in its highly processed form, is an unnatural substance to the body….  The consequence of utilizing salt in a devitalized form is a poorly functioning immune system, initiation and acceleration of chronic illness, and promotion of acidity.”

Simply put, Dr. Brownstein is saying that refined, white, iodized table salt has been stripped of anything remotely good for the body.  In contrast, unrefined salts such as those we promote have not been altered by man, and they contain many wonderful minerals provided by Mother Nature.

Why would anyone choose manufactured salt over unrefined sea salt? Maybe they don’t know of the tremendous advantages, which is why we’re so emboldened about educating the public on the benefits of the “real deal.” *

Remember, too, that it takes twice as much table salt to season dishes as it does sea salt.
